Men’s Legs

 In Health

Men’s legs have struck me recently. At the seaside, men all wear shorts. As I stand behind them, I stare at those legs. It is often not a pretty sight. Some just look horrendous, all black and bulging, swollen with lymphoedema. Okay, so most of these men are older, like me, but a surprising few are in their 50’s or 60’s. Those legs are a death sentence, that life will end. With such legs, walking is seen to be a problem, a shuffle, a slow movement. Are these men sitting down all day, at a computer? Or is it repeated constipation, a blocking of the blood flow down the pins? Or is it just a lack of exercise? I simply don’t know the answer. However, I do know that the signs are really bad.

Nobody’s walking

I have been walking around Highcliffe with Ann. We hardly see a soul. Chatting to a man with a dog, we told him we had walked 5 miles. He said that if he suggested his wife walk 5 miles, she would laugh at him. It’s odd, that driving and avoiding walking is in vogue, as if it is a punishment. However, the reality is that a walk has a calming effect, more so if you are listening to the sea, or a bird singing. The side effect is a strengthening of the legs, the movement of all that coagulated blood down in the nether regions. Seems like I am talking to myself.

Men’s legs

Good legs are attractive. Just look at an athletes legs, the muscles, the litheness. You have to consider them sexy. However, not the black and crumpled ones, with varicosed veins. Legs need just a little love, a walk every day, a few steps, to kick a ball once in a while. It is not too much to ask. However, it does not happen. They just get forgotten, ignored, those pins down below the bum you are sitting on.
