Christmas Crap

 In Environment

I am not a lover of Christmas. All that plastic crap outside peoples houses lighting up the night – it has to be thrown away! All the plastic crap that constitutes presents. The landfill bins sit outside the houses overfilled with waste. Nobody worries because it disappears, so it’s somebody else’s problem. I can’t live like that. Waste is killing the world. I confess that I do lie in bed anxious about such things. Surely, somebody has to be concerned. Why do we feel we have to buy stuff to show love or care? What’s wrong with spending less? What is good about spending and spoiling, rather than caring. Christmas crap is a generational change, one that did not exist 50 years ago.

Supporting China

Fine, call me miserable if you wish. In the past I despised the way the USA dominated us. I avoided American stuff where I could. Now, the Chinese possess the highest disposable income in the world and, in comparison, we are pauperised. So, what do we do, we buy more and more Chinese crap. It is a rotten government, no doubt planning to attack Taiwan. They also lock-up those who adversely criticise them. They also apply the iron glove to people in Hong Kong. Who would want to support such a government? Okay, I realise that we British don’t produce many of the goods. The answer, of course, is don’t buy anything. Save your money and protect Britain.

Christmas crap

I had a vile experience last year; I went to a Christmas market. It was a nightmare! Stall after stall of imported rubbish. People walking about with baskets of artificial flowers. Who can bear to buy artificial flowers? What can compare to a real flower? Whatever, never again. How do we get over this? How do we stop importing so much crap? Perhaps I shall start a Scrooge movement. However, I never succeeded as an influencer so what is the point. The nightmares, where I wake up surrounded by plastic waste will just have to go on. What is life if we don’t carry a burden or two?
